What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiology is a holistic health therapy and the study of movement, whereby ‘muscle testing’ or ‘bio feedback’ is used to measure the flow of energy through the body’s structures and can identify areas of imbalance that can contribute to disease and pain. It focuses on how muscles, bones and joints work together for mobility, strength and stability.

As with many of the treatments available in our clinics, Kinesiology is based on the ancient Chinese acupuncture theory of qi energy and is relevant to everyone, not just athletes. It can be applied to everyday activities, including the way we work and can help with many things, including:

General Health
Allergies, infections, nutritional deficiencies or excesses, parasites and hormone imbalances

Injuries
Neck pain, back pain, sciatica and healing of muscle injuries

Mental health
Anxiety and panic attacks

Stress (emotional, physical and mental)
Helps to overcome fears, phobias and self-doubts
Addictions and past traumas (some may be hidden)

Sports Performance
Speeds up general rest time
Identifies areas of weakness and/ or muscles that may be overworked
Injury prevention
Mental focus
