What did you do before becoming a Tuina practitioner?
Well I was and still am a dancer, I’ve been dancing for around over 15 years now.
What inspired you to become involved with Tuina?
I got inspired from my own injuries with my back through dancing and not feeling like I found anyone to help. As soon as I came to Touch Tuina then I was hooked and I had to learn more about it.
How long did it take to train? How long have you been a practitioner?
I did the two-year course here, but we’re constantly training.
I’ve been practising for four years now.
What do you like about working with Errol & Mariana?
They’re amazing. It feels like family here, and I’m constantly able to learn from them every week. So, it’s a mixture of family and work.
What types of clients do you treat?
The clients that I treat definitely vary, especially here in the clinic, they range in age from children to elderly people, athletes, people working in offices, and I do treat a lot of dancers as well.
Why do you think everyone should try a Tuina treatment?
That’s a big question. I personally think it’s great for everyone, even if you don’t feel like you have any pain in your body Tuina helps to find the root of your issues, so I feel like it helps to rebalance you even if you just need to destress. If you do have any physical injuries, it’s amazing.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
My favourite part is meeting different people, different clients and helping people get to where they need to be or finding out more about their bodies and helping people learn about their body.
Are there specific treatment areas you specialise in?
Tuina and cupping.
Do you have any favourite success stories with clients?
Yes. So, in the general sense, all of them are when clients leave feeling lighter, more energised and better energetically and physically. Recently, a woman came in and she hadn’t been able to walk or go up and down stairs without pain for over 10 years. We managed to help her to be able to walk confidently and pain free. So that was really lovely!
