Brought to you this month by Mariana, this stretch helps to open up the calf muscle, the Achilles tendon and facial tension within the foot. We’ll use the wall to deepen the stretch and open up the back of the calf.
- Stand facing a wall with both feet pointing forward
- Step back with your right leg, turning your right foot outwards at a 45-degree angle.
- Place your toes against the wall, keeping your left heel firmly on the floor.
- Shift your weight into your left foot and gently lean forward, bending your left knee toward the wall.
- Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds, breathing deeply. You can ease in and out of the stretch as needed.
- Switch sides and repeat on the other leg.
This stretch is a great way to loosen tight calves and improve flexibility!
