Course Syllabus
Cupping techniques using stationery and moving cups greatly enhance many spa/clinic body treatments and massage modalities and are beneficial for many ailments. This course will give you the opportunity to add to your existing skills. It will enable you to provide your clients with a new technique which will enhance their treatments and is suitable for qualified practitioners or those with equivalent professional/practical experience. A minimum requirement is A&P Level 3.
At the end of this workshop you will be able to:
- Understand the use of negative pressure cupping to enhance the repair of injured and painful tissues by affecting the lymphatic, fascial, circulatory and nervous systems.
- Understand Cupping’s history and benefits & the use of different cupping tools, rubber or plastic suction and traditional glass fire cups.
- Work to health and safety guidelines as flame and alcohol are used throughout the treatment and understand the importance of consultation and contraindications for treatment.
- Work and understand different cupping methods including stationary, sliding and flash techniques and when and how to use depending on conditions and situations.
- Perform cupping massage using sliding cups for the back, body and face. (This technique is deep and rejuvenating, wonderful to receive and easy for the practitioner to achieve great results for stress relief and muscular tightness. It is especially effective for strong bodied people).
- Know certain cupping prescription areas for the treatment of the common cold, stiff neck & shoulders and detox/cellulite massage.
- Please note: Small marks on the skin may be left after your treatment on the day as you work on each other, these are usual, will fade and they indicate the repair processes within the body.
