Client Testimonial – Adrian

I’ve been suffering from chronic back problems now for the last 2 – 3 years. I’m 27 years old and pretty much until 6 months ago I led an active and healthy life. However, due to the stresses of the modern work place environment (sitting behind a desk for 10+ hours a day and all the rest of it) I noticed a considerable deterioration in health.

One day a back spasm occurred whilst I was playing a casual game of football with my friends. This was so painful I was unable to continue the game. I was struggling to walk for about a week. Of course, being young, stubborn an eager to live my life I tried to correct my condition through continuing physical activity. Over a period of time this lead to more physical pain to the extent I had to be taken to hospital for injections. Things from here became a downward spiral. Less activity, less motivation poorer results throughout my life. A mild form of anxiety began to set on as I became quite severely restricted.

Over the last 2 – 3 years I’ve endeavoured to solve these problems and come back to normal health. I have tried physio, osteo and chiro all with mixed degrees of success. I feel an evaluation of the experiences needs its own piece but I will get to that at a later date. After experiencing mixed degrees of success but no permanent solution, I was recommended by a friend to try Touch Tuina with Errol Dexter Lynch.

To be quite honest, I was taken aback by my first impression of Errol’s treatment room. This was then a humble and modest place inside his family home with no pretence of showboating. Pictures of various patients and family members adorned parts of his wall. I was quite surprised to notice that some of these patients were famous premiership football stars. My instant thought from here was, what were these individuals doing in a place like this. How on earth would this sort of place be so discrete about something like that. When I asked the question, Errol firmly but modestly stated that these people were not only his patients but people who had come to him via recommendations for a series of treatments, quite a feat!

After my first session I instantly realised how this specific form of touch tuina had managed to form a strong ‘word of mouth’ circle. Quite simply, the treatment was nothing like any of the previous forms of work I had to my back. To say the least, a lot of hard work when  into it. I shall go into the detail of the analysis of the treatment at some other time, again to justify the proper attention that it needs. By the end of a 50 minute session I had transformed from struggling to walk into the practice to being able to make my first stretch of unassisted walking. Quite spectacular for 50 minutes!

I’ve been receiving fortnightly treatments for about 3 months now and since my first day I’ve been making steady but consistent progress to becoming a pain free active sports person in my life again. I can not stress how beneficial this can be in all aspects of your life. To date things are probably at their best for me since the last 2 – 3 years. Of course, I’ve always had lapsing back problems so I am cautious to preach any “cures”. All I will say at this stage is that things are looking good. There is a lot of hard work (and a bit of pain involved) with this form of treatment but there are certainly results.

My one criticism of this course of treatment is that’s it took me about 2 months to get seen. Errol is an extremely busy and hard man to get hold of. Given this is not an expensive form of treatment and given the success I have seen so far, it comes as no surprise to me that there is strong competition for his time. However, there are many other practitioners in the practice now and they have all been expertly trained by Errol and so even if he’s booked up in advance, there’s always somebody available who will do an equally excellent job of sorting out your issues!

I really wouldn’t wish severe back pain on anyone, it is very inhibiting to one’s life, so if you have issues yourself, try an appointment at Touch Tuina, you’ll be glad you did!
